Standard pergolas are pre-engineered systems in fixed sizes designed for faster ordering, while custom pergolas are built to fit unique spaces, dimensions and design requirements.
What if I don't know my exact measurements?
Approximate measurements are perfectly acceptable to start. Measure the open area roughly — width across, depth out from the house — and we'll help with the rest.
Do I need a permit?
Permit requirements vary by location and project. We recommend confirming the applicable requirements with your local local building department before installation.
Can a custom pergola be attached to my house?
Yes. Custom pergolas can be planned freestanding or wall-mounted against an existing structure.
Can accessories be part of a custom design?
Absolutely — retractable screens, sliding shutters, heating and LED lighting can be planned into the design from the start.
